Friday, September 13 will be our first School Improvement Day for the 2019-2020 school year.  Students will be dismissed at 11:15, and there will be no Okaw Vocational class that day, as Vandalia is also taking a half-day.

We are also  engaged in our first ever round of MAPS testing at the high school.  MAPS is a testing system that identifies areas of strength and deficiencies, and monitors progress over time.  These tests have been given for many years at AGS, so we will also be able to use their data to improve instruction and learning for our students.

Finally, we are preparing for the Seventh Effingham County Manufacturing Day on Thursday, October 3.  It is a day when manufacturers welcome high school students from seventeen different schools to tour their facilities and learn about the opportunities in our county.  It is a great way to support the entire community of our students, especially those who are not seeking to attend schooling after high school.

Thanks again for your support of "Every Single One, Every Single Time," and GO INDIANS!
