ACHS Soccer schedule change. Due to the predicted heat, Charleston has adjusted their Red & Gold Tournament to Saturday play only.
Students in Ms. Hooks American Literature class participated in a witch hunt this morning, in anticipation of reading The Crucible. Students' were directed to form the largest group possible that did not include a witch -- SPOILED ALERT -- though many accusations were made, no one was actually a witch.
Students learned a valuable lesson about making false accusations about innocent people, and the fear you might feel if someone were to falsely accuse you.
The boys and girls golf match scheduled for today, Monday, August 26 at Sandoval has been canceled due to heat. There will be no practice.

Please note that tomorrows home baseball game (August 27th) versus Neoga game time has been pushed back to 7PM due to the forecasted heat.
Altamont Girls Golf Team shot a 235 at Flora Golf & Country Club Friday. Leading the team was Sophia Pearcy with a 51. Gabby Weishaar shot a 58, Cecilia Pearcy shot a 62, Emma Sphar shot a 64, and Meghan Goeckner shot a 69.
Altamont Boys Golf Team shot a 191 at Flora Golf & Country Club Friday. Leading the team was Charlie Goeckner with a 46 and both Alex Walker and Evan Elam shortly behind him with a 47. Tyler Ruffner shot a 51, Cooper Hankins shot a 61, and Dayton Tabbert shot a 66.

Golf today at Flora!
Mr Long's Photojournalism class has been learning about the history and science behind cameras. Today, they turned his classroom into a Camera Obscura. The images produced are of the parking lot outside Mr. Long's classroom. Their cameras used long exposures (such as night mode) to take in as much light as possible.

Altamont Boys Golf Team shot a 379 at Quail Creek Country Club Monday at the Robinson Boys Golf Invitational, which got them 8th place overall. Leading the team was Kaiden Wolff with a 89 and Hayden Summers shortly behind him with a 90. Joel Bauer shot a 98, Kamryn Wolfert shot a 102, Charlie Goeckner shot a 107, and Tyler Ruffner shot a 109.
Altamont Boys Golf Team shot a 415 at Indian Springs Golf Course today at the St. Anthony Boys Golf Invitational, which got them 15th place. Leading the team was Hayden Summers with a 91 and Kaiden Wolff shortly behind him with a 92. Kamryn Wolfert shot a 115, Alex Walker shot a 117, Owen Reardon shot a 118, and Joel Bauer shot a 131.

ACHS Yearbook is selling ACHS 24-25 calendars as a fundraiser. Calendars include school attendance information (when school returns, days off, early dismissals, etc) and the school year's sports schedule*. Majority of the pictures used in the calendar were taken by students in the Photojournalism class.
